Official Synopsis: What About Gary? Enters the UK Film Database

We’re honored to have What About Gary? officially listed in the British Council’s UK Films Database.

The entry describes the film as “a raw and emotive documentary that delves into the tragic consequences of misinformation,” and recognizes it as a timely examination of how conspiracy theories can claim lives. The synopsis highlights the deeply personal nature of the project—director Tristan M. Copeland (Gary’s cousin) uses vérité footage, archival materials, and Gary’s own paintings to grapple with how misinformation took hold during the pandemic. Filmed in Shrewsbury, the documentary also features poetry in its cinematography and storytelling, as well as an evocative score that carries the emotional weight of loss and reflection.
