This week The Observer shared the heartbreaking story of Gabriel Shemirani, whose sister Paloma died after refusing treatment while influenced by conspiracy theories.

Our documentary What About Gary? tells a parallel tragedy: my cousin Gary, who we lost to Covid-19 and misinformation.

These stories show how urgently we need to understand the human cost of conspiracies. That’s why I made this film.
